I made a puzzle game where you rotate a hexagon to catch falling blocks
Hi all, I'm the developer of Hexafall and it just went live on Google Play.
Colored blocks fall toward a hexagon in the middle of the screen. You tap the left or right side to rotate it, and when three blocks of the same color touch, they clear. If any side stacks up past the outer ring, the run is over.
The part I spent the most time on is the board shapes. There are six: hexagon, heptagon, pentagon, octagon, square and triangle. Fewer sides means fewer lanes to spread blocks across, so the square and triangle get tense quickly. Each shape keeps its own high score.
A few other details:
- One thumb, portrait, short runs
- Color blind mode (red and green become purple and orange)
- Built on the open source game Hextris, rebuilt in Flutter with the new shapes
I'd like to hear what you think of the difficulty curve, especially whether the triangle is fun hard or just unfair.
