64% of my Claude Design limit. Gone. Before I designed a single screen. 😅
I never start a project without a design system in place - so naturally, the first thing I did was import the full shadcn/ui system straight from the official GitHub repo. Needed some tweaks, but at least I didn't build it from scratch.
Still somehow burned through half my limit doing it. 🙃
Can't imagine using it on an actual project with this kind of consumption, but interesting nonetheless.

Curious — do you think tools like Claude are actually ready for full design workflows yet, or still more of a helper than a replacement?
The consumption rate on these design tools is still quite high for setup tasks. Importing a full GitHub repo is a heavy lift for any model. It makes you wonder how the workflow will need to change for the actual design phase if the limit is already nearly gone.
I hit a wall within 20 mins of using it on the day it launched! I was able to get a working prototype out of it, but it surprised me by how quickly I hit my limit. Not going to change my workflow too much right now, hopefully as time goes on it'll become more efficient!
This is the reality no one talks about the cost of these AI tools brings, nonetheless, the stress of not delivering the expected results at once. Anyway, Claude is the best AI companion for me

Over the years I've designed many mobile apps for clients.
This one is different. It's mine.
- Two weekends.
- Figma for the design (it's hand-made)
- Claude for the code, App Store research and strategy and everything related to the app submission.
- 1 rejection from Apple, sorted out in a few minutes this morning, resubmitted for review and we're now live.
It's nothing world changing - just a kitchen timer. But it's on the App Store and I built it as a designer with zero coding skills. Gotta wrap up a case study for this soon.
P.S. Feels a bit odd to have "Developer" label above my name 🤣
Cool stuff Ivo, congrats on the lunch 😃 . You probably got this request before haha, do you mind sharing more behind the scenes of this project? For example, did you start first in Claude then doing visual refinements in Figma or the other way around?

How are you actually structuring your AI workflow right now - are your tools connected, or are you still using them separately?
I’ve landed on a pretty simple system using just Claude + Flora.
Claude is where I develop the thinking - my existing brand direction, concepts, and refining prompts until they actually reflect the creative intent behind the project.
Flora is where that intent becomes visual. It’s a node-based canvas, so I can generate imagery, iterate variations, drop in mockups, and build full product scenes in one connected system.
I don’t see AI replacing design thinking. I see it speeding up execution while I stay fully in control of direction, taste, and decisions.

this is wonderful, i love your lightning!
I have been using Claude Code for 2 months now, and i'm now at a level where i'm able to produce production ready components from designs.
I couldn't find the right component in Shadecn so I created and tweaked my own side nav bar, and the way of how I wish this experience would feel, you can see on the left my idea of build, and on the right the execution after a couple prompts.
It's like the smallest thing ever, but basically, I hate jumpy dashboard when one minimizes it, in this example you get to see how smoothly it closes.
No layout jumps, or random logo flashes, or jumpy-ness.
If you care about little details like this, you can definitely ship quality-grade products with AI.
My fear is shipping AI-Slop, so I spend a good amount of times (and tokens) until i'm happy with what I see.
