Reposting this because the craft reasoning is worth studying more than the sci-fi concept itself: choosing film grain, rust, and dust over a clean CGI look is the exact same principle real cinematographers use to make VFX-heavy scenes feel tangible. Pulling that off in a single unbroken shot using AI tooling (Seedance 2.5 in CapCut) is a genuinely different level of intentionality than most AI-generated shorts settle for.
What I built:
"Portal Protocol" It is a 30-second sci-fi short film. I made it as one single shot with no cuts using Seedance 2.5 in CapCut Video Studio. A teenage boy finds a glowing arcade machine, gets pulled into an alien jungle, where he must find the courage to face...
I'm not a professional video editor & this is my first time trying video generation and editing like this.
But I tried my best to make it good.
