Sales call notes are a goldmine that most teams never mine.
I built a pipeline for a client where reps were manually reviewing transcripts after every call — pulling out objections, next steps, competitor mentions, and deal risks. It was taking 20–30 minutes per call. At volume, that's a serious drag on momentum.
The fix: n8n picks up completed call recordings, sends the transcript to an LLM with a structured prompt, and writes the parsed output directly into Google Sheets — deal stage, key objections, recommended follow-up, risk flags, all in labeled columns. No manual entry, no missed insights buried in a long transcript.
What I learned building it: the prompt engineering matters more than the tooling. Getting the LLM to return consistent JSON across wildly different call lengths and styles took more iteration than the n8n workflow itself. Once that was stable, everything else snapped into place.
The client went from "we don't really use call notes" to actually tracking patterns across the pipeline. That shift happened because the data became structured and searchable — not because anyone changed their habits.
If your team is sitting on call recordings and not pulling signal from them, you're leaving real pipeline intelligence on the table.
