Every time production becomes dramatically easier, we assume more output equals more progress. That's also when meaning starts to wobble.
It happened in the 1890s when industrialization made decoration instantly replicable. Design elements were stacked up next to each other without being in conversation together. Scale simply moved faster than intention — and Art Nouveau was partly a response to that. Not anti-machine but pro-authorship.
The AI trend feels similar. Using AI doesn't automatically remove care. But it removes the process that originally enforced care as an operational requirement, and the people and companies who aren't mindful of that will land in the same pitfall as industrialization. The rest will have the opportunity to pioneer a new movement in response.
When something takes time, intention is built in. When something is instant, intention has to be chosen.
That's a very different content environment than what we've come to know — and the people who figure it first out are the ones who treat deliberate intent as clarity, not a limitation. 🙌

A perspective with great depth. We have to remain careful again. As creation becomes easier, the intention behind it becomes increasingly important.
