Been thinking lately, do “imperfect” beauty campaigns suddenly feel more interesting than polished ones?
I have been noticing more cosmetic brands using distorted reflections, strange closeups, blur, cropped faces, and uncomfortable angles. To be honest, I think it works because perfection has become predictable now that we are immersed in an AI era where replication is soooo easy 😒
Distortion slows people down and it adds some tension and emotion to visuals that would otherwise feel too polished.
What started in punk visuals was originally a reaction against perfection and the "norm". Which makes me wonder… now that AI is making everything cleaner, faster, and more polished, is distortion becoming the new punk?
🤔 Curious if others are noticing this shift too.
I feel the same way, it seems now the thing is to be a little imperfect with everything
