Night Post: Letters Find Home

A friendly Halloween puzzle in an original 3D paper village inspired by an Irish street. A small ghost postman has three letters to deliver. Turn the road tiles to connect the postbox to the numbered front doors; every successful delivery reveals a waiting neighbour and warms another home.

Play by tapping the tiles or using keys 1–9. Send a letter only when the road is connected. H gives one useful hint; replay, sound and calm-motion controls are included. The courier follows the visible road curves at a constant travel speed, turns smoothly, and returns along the same route. Roads lock during delivery.

Built with Rive CLI, GPU Canvas, native Rive state machines and data binding. The original procedural village has depth-tested mesh houses, roof slopes, window reveals, paper grain, a letter handoff and antialiasing where supported. Native state transitions animate the delivery stamps. The 57-second walkthrough shows actual public-browser gameplay and real RML, WGSL and Luau source excerpts.

My contribution: I chose the Irish setting and the feeling of finding home, and provided critical design review of geometry and motion. The original mesh artwork, code and animation were developed with AI assistance. No manual Rive Editor work or personal voice recording is claimed. Geometry and synthesized chimes are original; no competitor assets are reused.

The Haunted Room is an interactive, cozy-spooky desktop fidget toy, a little haunted parlor you can leave open on your screen and poke at whenever you need a break. No instructions. No hints. Nothing will tell you what to press. Just a cozy haunted room full of secrets, waiting to be poked at your own pace. ▶️ Play it on desktop: https://haunted-room-wcc682.rive.to/ 🎬 Watch video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/xDFD62jbs_I FEATURES USED: Rive CLI + GPU Canvas (both) 🖥️ Rive CLI The entire scene was built from the terminal with the Rive CLI and Claude Code as my coding agent, writing the scene in RML with a live preview. I worked in stages: layout first, then one interaction at a time, iterating by feel on every timing and effect. ✨ GPU Canvas (WGSL shaders) Custom shaders power the animated fireplace, the rippling portrait transformation and the twinkling stars in the landscape painting. ⚙️ Also used: State Machines (every hover and click interaction), Data Binding (a view model links the systems together, so lighting the fire warms the room, deepens the shadows and scares away the wall eyes), Scripting (looping background music with a mute toggle) and Audio. 🎨 Human Touch I art-directed the whole room: generated a concept, then cut, cleaned and composited every piece of art by hand. I made the calls on what stayed and what went. A bandage whip, a "Happy Halloween" garland and a spider web were all built and cut because they crowded the scene. I finished it in the Rive Editor, adding shadows by hand so every object sits in the room. The music was picked to feel playful-haunted, not scary, so it's something you'd actually want to leave running. Gary's Haunted Porch is an interactive cartoon-horror scene built with the Rive CLI, RML, Luau scripting, state machines, data binding, and a custom WGSL GPU layer. Knock on the door to trigger a tense buildup followed by a monster jump scare, a one-candy skeleton, or Boo-Boo arriving too late. The Scare Meter drives the fog, heartbeat vignette, candle flicker, trembling, and Gary's red eyes, while SPACE cuts every light and leaves only eyes in the dark.
