Brief:
In 1890s Calcutta, painters near the Kalighat temple sold quick, bold watercolours to pilgrims, and many of them poked fun at the city's new rich: the "babu" and his borrowed fashions.
I found four of these public-domain paintings at the Cleveland Museum of Art (CC0) and the Wellcome Collection (Public Domain Mark) and built them into a custom Recraft V4 Style, Kalighat Babu (1890 Calcutta).
Then I pointed that 130-year-old satire at today's babus: the selfie, the gym mirror, the delivery rider, the ring light and the Sunday video call with grandmother.
Every plate keeps the originals' flat colour, sweeping brush outlines and hand-lettered captions, and the Style letters its own titles.
The series is ten plates plus a 40-second mock ad, "NEW BABU: since 1890, still posing."
