Design Arcana is my submission for the @Figma #ConfigMakeathon.
The idea started with a simple question:
How can starter designers uncover their blind spots before they become design mistakes?
Design Arcana is a tarot-inspired reflection experience that helps designers explore assumptions, challenges, and opportunities hidden within their work. Instead of predicting the future, each card reveals design principles, blind spots, reflection prompts, and actionable next steps.
Built with:
✨ Figma Make for the interactive experience, flows, and prototyping
🎨 Figma Weave for generating and exploring the stained-glass tarot-inspired illustrations
🤖 GPT and Claude for research, ideation, content development, and refining the learning framework behind the cards
💬 Feedback and reviews from friends who helped challenge assumptions and improve the experience throughout the process
This project became an exploration of storytelling, design education, world-building, interaction design, and AI-assisted creation all coming together in one experience.
The goal wasn't to create a game.
It was to create a new way for designers to reflect, learn, and grow through discovery.
Tarot predicts the future. Design Arcana reveals the present.

the red type pops. how long did this take?
Day 8/30 of designing one hero section every day.
Today: Cerro, a single-origin coffee brand. And after three days of building reveal mechanics, this one has almost no interaction at all.
→ The photograph is the design. An overhead shot of a picker at work, dark glossy foliage, red cherries. My only job was to not get in its way.
→ The light does the layout for me. The image funnels attention to the center, so the type sits in the shadowed edges where it doesn't compete. No scrims, no overlays needed.
→ The only motion is an entrance: the wordmark alone on empty plants, then the picker fades in.
