Onyx Rose: Velvet Static

Creative Direction, Album Art + Visual Campaign

Velvet Static is a self initiated album campaign built around the fictional artist identity Onyx Rose. I wanted to create a full visual era instead of stopping at one album cover, so the project expands into press photography, vinyl packaging, promotional posters, editorial layouts, and digital campaign assets.

The creative direction pulls from 1970s glam rock, theatrical performance, backstage photography, fashion, and analog print design, with a palette of oxblood, black, aged ivory, and warm tungsten tones. The goal was to make the work feel bold, a little dangerous, and visually rich without turning it into costume or parody.

I developed the concept, art direction, visual identity, typography direction, styling references, campaign structure, and overall presentation.
