Black coated box feels like a major level-up!
Brown cardboard feels more honest and human. Black coated looks nice, but brown fits the DIY, supporter-first vibe better.

Hmmm another intereting point of view there but, what if you try considering maybe making the people receiving such gift to feel special in a way.
at the end of the day though i think it still depends on how you want the brand to be percieved though.

The black coated looks really good! It also stands out as opposed to the regular brown
The black has a more premium feel but you might want to change the background to a color that creates contrast with the box. You want to capture your viewers attention and direct their focus immediately. Right now, the brown box does that because of the contrast it has with its background even though the black box looks better.
