PINTADO: the cloth Europe banned for being too beautiful, reborn as a luxury house.
Between 1650 and 1800, painters on India's Coromandel Coast drew cotton by hand and dyed it in madder and indigo. France banned it in 1686. I trained a Recraft Style on these cloths and asked what their house would sell today.
The archive
• 8 Coromandel chintz pieces from The Met, public domain (CC0)
• 7 Kalighat paintings for a 3-carré capsule, with a second Style (Cleveland Museum of Art, Wellcome Collection)
The Style
• "Pintado, Coromandel chintz 1650–1800", trained on 9 crops
• It drew every motif: the carrés, the ship mark, the bird seal, the tree of life
The house
• Products, lookbook, mockups and posters: Nano Banana 2.1 in Recraft, from Style-made references
• Logo lockup, layouts and films: made outside Recraft
• Generic objects only, no real brands
• The bento grid follows Red Antler's Tendril format
Everything is on one Recraft canvas, in order.
