"Discovered" vs "Crawled – currently not indexed" need opposite fixes
Two Search Console statuses get mixed up all the time, and treating one like the other wastes weeks.
Discovered – currently not indexed. Google knows the URL but hasn't fetched it yet. Nothing has judged your content. Fix the priority: link to the page from your strongest indexed pages, keep it in a clean sitemap, and request indexing once.
Crawled – currently not indexed. Google fetched the page, read it, and decided not to index it. Requesting indexing again won't change that. Fix the page: merge near-duplicates, make it the clear best answer for one search intent, link to it internally, then request once.
Quick tell: if you re-request indexing for the same unchanged page every day, you're treating a quality verdict like a queue problem.
I put all 15 "not indexed" statuses, a 30-second decision tree and a printable triage worksheet into a free 15-page guide. Grab it here 👉 https://contra.com/products/2NbK909m-why-isnt-my-page-indexed-free-google-indexing-guide
