The Kmart North Island Distribution Centre is a 35,000m2 state of the art facility that replaced the existing facilities that Kmart had across the North Island.. Our role commenced from the initial competitive bid to Kmart, then developing the procurement strategy, through to the delivery of the project. We provided both Project Management and Engineer to the Contract services. We procured the design team and worked closely with the client for the tender to secure Kmart as the tenant. We then led the securing of a Certificate of Compliance for the Resource Consent. This enabled us to the procure and work closely with the design and build contractor on behalf of the client to ensure the project was delivered on-time, under-budget and to meet Kmart’s stringent tenant specification requirements as well as the design requirements from TGH. To ensure a smooth delivery, it was critical to create a collaborative team culture to bring together a diverse international group of designers and stakeholders.
