We’re launching the very first Jitter hackathon on Contra 🚀
Create a motion design in Jitter and submit it for a chance to win $1,000 — our panel of judges will select 5 winners.
To enter the hackathon, your post must include:
• A Jitter file link to your animation (feel free to submit several!)
• A short description explaining the concept, style, and use case
• The animation must be new and original — no templates or reused work
• The submission must be made on the Hackathon page
Details on review criteria, who’s judging, and how to stand out in the replies 👇
Here are the judges who will be selecting the 5 winning submissions:
What we’re looking for:
• The animation must be original (not based on a template or somebody else’s work)
• The entire animation must be made in Jitter (although it can include video or images)
• Shared on the Jitter Community with the hashtag #jitterhackathon
• Posted to the Contra Hackathon page
Bonus points
• 🎨 Push the boundaries: Create something truly original by tapping into Jitter’s full potential — think custom easings, blur effects, audio, and more.
• 🌍 Real-world use case: Showcase how your animation would fit into a real product, campaign, or brand (mock it up...
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz Could you please clarify the difference between sharing in the "Jitter Community #jitterhackathon" and posting on the "Contra Hackathon Page"? I’ve already submitted my animation, but I’m not sure if I need to share it somewhere else too. Just want to make sure I’m following all the steps! 😊
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz what's the deadline?
@Emmanuel Darmon In 8 days if I'm correct 😁
@Rodrigo Calix @Emmanuel Darmon that's correct, deadline is next Wednesday!
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz Can we submit multiple jitter motions? It will be hard to choose one.
@Avinash The instructions says “(feel free to submit several!)”, I don't know if you'll be able to submit several posts to the hackathon, but it looks like in 1 post you can include the link to more than one, BTW, I think every post has a characters limit. I hope it helps 😉
@Chizorom Maduba 🔥 Let's goooo!!
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz that's all cool, but what if the brief was more unique? kinda hard to expect new original works without giving a specific direction--what's stopping from dropping old works
@Wado Design @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz I guess that's part of what allows for more creativity.
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz I've been waiting for this opportunity 😏 what's the deadline though?
@Daniel Allison @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz It says 8 days if I'm not mistaken.
@Ali Elhaj @Daniel Allison It's on next Wednesday!
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz @Ali Elhaj Yeah already figured it out, Arigato!
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz I've been waiting for this one 🔥
@I$mel Figueroa @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz Definitely an exciting opportunity!
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz congratssss
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz I hope the winner's templates are up on Jitter cause I know I would love to use them in my next design project 💜
@Samia Bukhari @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz Haha, makes sense, using them will help us understand the structure, and then we’ll have a chance to master it and participate in the next hackathon.
By the way, does that hackathon happen again?
#jitterhackathon
Great idea @Samia Bukhari!!
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz That sounds like a great opportunity, but I'm currently in the learning phase. 😔 Are you planning to run the contest again sometime in the future? I'd love to have a chance to participate then.
#jitterhackathon
@Mahmood Ali @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz That's just an excuse. I started learning animation when the hackathon began. I used Jitter once before that. You just have to post what you have. You don't have to win your first hackathon.
@Kamil Betterside @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz Well said, Kamil. I hope we can contribute our best in the next one 💪🏻
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz I can’t wait to participate 🙂↔️🙂↔️
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz Amazing opportunity!
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz amazing
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz I'm so excited for this
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz a great opportunity I will job on 🚀💯
I use blender tho. Is that allowed?
@nathfavour this hackathon is for Jitter only, but you can try Jitter out and submit
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz how do i participate and submit my design
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz I submitted a design that didn't get approved.
When trying to submit another one that is much more complex I found out that the submit opportunity is gone.
So you have to submit all the versions you intend to send right away?
Hi @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz, super excited to have joined!
A few questions:
• What does "Hackathon page" mean? I already posted to the #jitterhackathon topic, but not sure if there's somewhere else to post as well?
• Is it possible to submit more than one animation (aka multiple posts)?
Thanks!
@Marek Minor @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz if you posted on the jitter hackathon topic, that is correct!
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz I would like to submit more motion projects, but it seems the submit becomes disable once 1 work is submitted, are we meant to submit all at once?
@Oyediran Hassanat @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz you can submit again once your submission is approved!
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz Hi, I submitted my entry for the Jitter Hackathon over 24 hours ago, but it still shows “under review” and isn’t visible in the community thread. I’d really appreciate it if you could confirm whether my submission has been received and when it will be made public. Thank you!
@Anurag Challa @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz you'll get an email when your submission is approved!
Hey @Jocke Larsson and @Ashwini Ravikumar! I went ahead and removed your rejected submissions so you can resubmit now!
For future ref, you can simply delete your original post to be able to resubmit
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz
A NEW DAWN IN MOTION
All the animations in this reel were created exclusively with Jitter — even the typography transformations (using advanced techniques you can explore through the REMIX link) and the parallax illustration.
The use case features the latest rebrand for
@Jorge Rico @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz Did you post it here because your work has not passed the review?
@Bigloong Shang @Sébastien Robaszkiewicz No, I posted it here because I forgot to add the remix link in my submission 🙌
@Sébastien Robaszkiewicz Oh my , Couldn't meet up
