A site for a festival about error, distortion and failure – which then has to work flawlessly, because artists are applying to a deadline and need to read the dates.

That's the whole design problem. Glitch is a language about breaking legibility; an open call is a page that cannot afford to break it. So the noise lives in the layers that carry no information – the shader field behind everything, the type on entry, the transitions – and every date, venue and deadline sits on a clean plane and stays put.
