When I moved to Portugal, I had a big desire to build something for the community. As I'm living in a small town called Costa da Caparica, I did some research and found out that the aren't enough information about it on the internet, and many local businesses aren't present online at all. So I decided to create such a platform for tourists, locals, and digital nomads - a place where I gather information about where to go, what to visit, where to buy what you need, where to find a doctor, a pharmacy, or a surf coach. I'm planning to add even more features with time, such as local news, info about events, etc. What surprised me is that right after launching the website, a few business owners reached out to me with requests to add their businesses to my platform. What features would you add to this website to make it even more useful?

Users don’t explore products randomly. They follow clues. If a button, label, or section doesn’t clearly show what will happen next, users hesitate or ignore it. That clarity the small signals that guide users forward is called information scent.

When the scent is strong, users feel confident clicking and exploring. When it’s weak, they get lost or drop off. Good UX makes every action predictable and easy to understand without explanation.
