Learning graphic design in 2026 is a waste of time.
At least the way most people still learn it.
If your plan is to master Photoshop and wait for clients, you're competing with a tool that never sleeps. Around 75% of designers now use AI tools, up from 35% in 2023, and job listings mentioning AI tools rose from 3% to 32%.
The new baseline is the AI-native designer: someone who knows how to prompt, iterate and speed up the repetitive 80% of the workflow, so they can spend their time on the 20% clients actually pay for. That's concept, taste and strategy.
AI makes the drafts. You make the decisions.
So the question isn't "should I learn design?" It's "am I learning to direct, or just to click?"
Agree or disagree? Tell me in the comments.

But without the basics any technical person will not be able to direct/prompt AI tools.
Basics first and then implement and use AI to speed up the process.
