AI can build the UI in minutes. Bringing it up to a good standard, still needs a designer. Agree or disagree?

Agree. AI gets you a decent first draft fast, but the spacing, hierarchy and small details that make it feel right still need a designer's eye.

I think AI still needs a designer who knows how to operate it effectively and has a strong design background. Things like choosing the right typography, colors, and visual hierarchy still require a designer’s experience and judgment.

I enjoy starting with a simple prompt and output, and shaping it into something I like

Agree! AI can build the UI quickly, but a designer brings the polish, consistency, and attention to detail that make it truly stand out. 💡

Totally agree. 👌

I agree! AI can make design processes much faster, and we should absolutely embrace that. But a polished UI means little if it doesn't solve real user problems. Understanding people, making strategic decisions, and bringing creative vision still require human judgment. AI can...

Wow I love this

What part of the design process do you find AI struggles with the most—getting visual hierarchy right or fine-tuning interaction states?

agree 100%, ai can ship the first version fast but making it actually usable still needs a designer

agree, the gap isn't taste, it's consistency, AI will happily ship five slightly different button paddings on one page and call it done

Agree, but the split is moving. The model gets layout and components to about 80 percent. What it still cannot do is decide what to leave out. The AI-built screens I see have one more card, one more badge, one more gradient than they need. Taste is subtraction, and that is still a human job.

half agree. polish is getting cheap. knowing which screen shouldn't exist isn't.

Completely agree with this thesis 😊 AI can and should support us - designers - however human touch and polish is more than needed for high impact products.

Agree, and from the PM side the gap is less about visual polish and more about judgement: which states matter, what happens when data is empty or wrong, what the user needs to see first. AI doesn't ask those questions unless someone does.

Fully agree. AI hands you the first draft, but taste, hierarchy, and restraint still come from a designer.

I totally agree with you. AI won't survive without human. It still need judge to produce better outputs.
