Contra just told me I'm in the top 1% of creatives on the platform.
Cool badge. Doesn't build anything on its own.
What actually moved the needle wasn't chasing the score — it was going back through old proposals and noticing I was writing to sound impressive instead of answering the actual technical problem in the brief. Once I started solving the thing nobody explicitly asked but clearly needed, everything got sharper. The ranking followed, not the other way around.
Currently building in Framer — SaaS, real estate, and brand sites with real interaction design. If your brief has a hard technical problem buried in it, that's usually where I do my best work.

the sounding-impressive trap is so real

Right? Took me way too long to actually notice I was doing it lol. Once you see it you can't unsee it in your own writing.

That line about writing to sound impressive instead of answering the actual problem hits close to home, easy trap under deadline pressure. How do you spot the hidden technical problem in a brief before you start proposing, is it a specific question you ask or more of a gut read by now?

Honestly started as gut read, but it's turned into more of a habit now. I look for whatever the client called out as a "hard requirement" or spent the most words warning me about — that's usually the actual risk, not decoration. Then I ask myself what breaks if that one thing...
