The assessment was for an AI company with 5 different platforms that needed to live under one landing page.
I decided early that I didn't want to over-design it.
The brand was already minimal and image-light, with a strong mosaic/grid style, so my focus was on following the brand and selling the product, not adding visuals just to make the page look impressive.
For the hero, I played with an atomic structure, the logo as the nucleus and the five products as electrons.
The turnaround time was short, but I managed to build out the full landing page and explore the idea properly.
Didn't get the role, but hey… the portfolio gets another project 😂.
I've built enough Middle-East-facing products to know: "East" isn't a blue color swatch bolted onto a hero image. It's rhythm, texture, warmth the stuff a user feels before they can name it. One of these two designs gets that in my opinion.

"Product designer" is quietly splitting into two different jobs.
One delivers screens. Beautiful, well-organized, on-brand screens — handed off to someone else to figure out if they were the right screens at all.
The other delivers judgment, with proof attached: the research behind the decision, the prototype that tests it, sometimes the code that ships it.
For most of my career, the first job was enough. I don't think it is anymore.
So over the past year I rebuilt how I work. AI in my research workflow — not to generate designs, but to synthesize signals I'd never have time to read manually. Prototyping in code.
And speculative work: this year I redesigned Linear's project architecture without anyone asking — research across community threads and 74 G2 reviews, three redesigned surfaces, and an honest list of what I'd still need to validate.
Not because Linear needed my help. Because "trust me, I'm a designer" stopped working — and showing your judgment on a real problem is the only alternative I know.
