There's always something in a dataset that looks interesting at first. But once you check it against the rest of the data... some patterns hold up. Some completely disappear.
That's been an interesting part of working through this e-commerce project.
Cutting the data by product, discounts, returns, and profit together kept changing the picture. It became less about finding a result — and more about understanding which patterns were actually worth chasing. The more the data connected, the more the initial picture changed. That's usually where the real insight is: Not in the first pattern you see. But in the one still standing after you've tried to break it.
