Playing around with a scroll-driven 3D animation in Framer.
The "3D" is actually just a video. The animation was made in Blender (not by me), then I exported it as a video and used a component that syncs the video playback with the scroll position.
Pretty cool way to get a 3D-like effect without embedding a real 3D scene.
The quality might look a bit off in places, but I think that's because the animation itself is pretty fast. I'll probably slow it down and see if that improves it.
I used the same setup for a 73-second Seedance film, with scroll controlling video playback. The tricky part was hiding the seams between generated clips so the scrub still felt continuous.

Lately I've been exploring a workflow that combines AI-assisted ideation with Blender to create cute, stylized 3D characters.
Instead of jumping straight into sculpting, I start with a structured reference sheet that defines:
• Character turnarounds (Front, Side, Back)
• Proportions and silhouette
• Facial expressions
• Primitive blocking
• Materials and shading
• Studio lighting setup
• Topology and modeling guidelines
This approach helps speed up production while keeping the final model clean, consistent, and ready for animation or game development.
My focus is on creating characters that are:
• Appealing and expressive
• Animation-friendly
• Cleanly modeled
• Optimized for real production workflows
Whether it's mascots, game characters, collectibles, or stylized brand avatars, building a strong reference before modeling saves time and leads to better results.
