A pitch deck can look beautiful and still fail.
One of the biggest mistakes I see in pitch decks is trying to make every slide look impressive.
Big headlines.
Too many graphics.
Too many colours.
Too much information.
The goal of a pitch deck isn't to impress someone with the design.
It’s to make the story easy to understand.
A good slide should answer one simple question:
“What do I want the audience to understand from this slide?”
Once that is clear, the design becomes much easier.
The layout, typography, visuals, charts and spacing should all support that one message.
Good presentation design isn't about adding more. It's about knowing what to remove.

A promo video should do more than look good. It should make the product feel clear, engaging, and worth exploring.
For this project, I focused on strong visuals, smooth motion, and UI animation that keeps the story moving without getting in the way.
Simple idea. Strong execution.
The restrained motion is doing the storytelling herethe UI state changes keep the promo legible while the device framing gives it a tangible, product-like feel.
Sometimes a slide can look polished but still fail to communicate its message. The issue is often not the visual style, but how the content is presented.
A strong presentation starts with a clear idea. The audience should immediately understand what the slide is about and what they should take away from it.
Too much text, imagery, or decoration can quickly become distracting. Visual hierarchy matters just as much. Headlines, body copy, numbers, and supporting details should have different levels of emphasis, making the content easier to scan.
Another common mistake is judging a slide only from the creator’s perspective. Something that feels obvious to the designer may be unclear to someone seeing it for the first time.
That is why I always ask myself: Is the main message clear? Can the audience find the key information quickly? Does every element serve a purpose?
Effective presentation design makes information easier to understand, keeps attention focused, and highlights what matters most.
The contrast between the red focal piece and the monochrome field makes the hierarchy immediate. Nice example of using one strong visual metaphor to support the presentation’s message without adding clutter.
Just wrapped another real estate project, this one for Amirah Estates.
They are a luxury residential brokerage across premier US metros, working in a market where a third of transactions never hit the open listing. The portfolio and the track record were already there. The deck was not.
The brief: take a discerning client or investor through market data, services, and featured listings without ever dropping the tone the brand runs on. A standard real estate deck was never going to work.
So we built around stillness and weight. Deep forest green with gold used sparingly. Editorial property photography, restrained rather than stacked. Market numbers like luxury price growth and days on market given room to land instead of crammed into a chart. Featured listings treated as three moments, not a table.
The result is a deck that feels as considered as the properties inside it.
If your work is premium and your deck is not, that gap is usually the thing I get hired to close.
