Most website motion is added too late.
The design is already approved, the build is nearly finished, and someone asks to make it feel more premium. So everything starts fading, floating, and sliding into view.
The site moves more, but nothing becomes clearer.
Good motion should guide attention, explain change, or give one important moment more weight. Sometimes the best motion decision is leaving most of the interface completely still.
Before animating anything, I ask one question:
What does this help the visitor understand or feel?
If there’s no clear answer, it’s probably just decoration.
