I tested a simple workflow using ChatGPT and Codex. First, I chose an edit worth studying. Then I turned its creative choices, pacing, typography, transitions, visual hierarchy and sound, into a style guide. Next, I organised my footage and assets in one place. Only then did I ask AI to build the edit. The result was not a finished video. It was a strong first draft I could review and refine. That distinction matters. Most people expect AI to replace the creative process. I think its real value is making that process faster. It can translate references into repeatable instructions, reduce time spent on mechanical execution and give teams more room for creative judgement. But only when the direction is clear. Weak references and vague prompts still create weak work. AI is not the system. It becomes useful when you build a system around it. Where would AI save the most time in your creative process?
