Séance Switchboard
I built an interactive haunted communications device designed to feel like a physical machine rather than a traditional game interface. The user plugs into the switchboard, tunes through static with a rotary dial, watches the lamps, VU meter, and oscilloscope react, and gradually locks onto a signal that turns into something much more unsettling.
The experience escalates through interaction: the machine powers down when unplugged, the cable begins moving on its own, reconnects itself, and the final sequence breaks the entity beyond the oscilloscope into a full-screen spectral breach.
I wanted to avoid making another conventional 2D game and instead build one tactile object that becomes increasingly wrong the longer you interact with it.
Features used: Rive CLI, RML, scripting/state logic, vector animation, audio, and interactive controls.
The submission video includes the finished experience in action, a look at the Rive Editor, and a brief view of the CLI/agent workflow and RML used during development.
