Even after a year of seeing it in progress, the design still takes my breath away. I specifically wanted an homage to Ghost in the Shell, a brilliant movie that becomes more timely and relevant by the day. A design about the marriage of tech and organic shapes, inspired by a movie about transhumanism and the nature of the soul, created digitally and then inked onto my organic body with an electric piece of technology and man-made ink: everything woven together into a transhumanist manifesto. And imagine how the design, and its meaning, will evolve as my body ages, grows or droops, and changes shape? And imagine how our ideas about transhumanism will evolve as the fields AI and robotics advance?
