The Mesoamerican Codex Streetwear Lookbook
This series merges pre-Columbian manuscript art with contemporary high-fashion techwear. Reimagining the visual language of 15th-century Indigenous Mexican codices—such as the Codex Borgia and Codex Nuttall—this collection presents a luxury streetwear lookbook rendered as an ancient painted document.
Each piece features flat, two-dimensional ceremonial stances, heavy black contour line art, stepped geometric framing, and a palette of traditional natural pigments: turquoise blue, cochineal crimson, jade green, and ochre yellow on textured amate bark paper. The figures model modern street style—including oversized puffer jackets embroidered with feathered-serpent motifs, technical cargo pants adorned with calligraphic glyphs, statement high-top sneakers, and smart visors—creating a striking fusion of ancient Mesoamerican heritage and contemporary fashion culture.
