Practical Capture: The base footage is shot from a low camera angle on a balcony while I jumped upward and swung myself, tucking my legs and extending my arms backward to simulate a launch pose and give the weightless feel.
Subject Extraction/Rotoscoping: I rotoscoped (masked out) the clip to separate myself from the original balcony setting.
Environment Replacement: The original background is removed and replaced with a stormy, dark sky featuring lightning strikes.
Effects Compositing: I added Digital fire elements then tracked and attached to my hands and feet to act as jet thrusters. A large explosive fire burst and lens flare are overlaid at the exact moment of the jump to create impact and sell the launch velocity.
Integration: Finally i color-graded and darkened the scene to blend naturally with the nighttime storm environment while reflecting the bright, warm glow emitted by the added fire effects.
We're currently working on this animation for a mobile app. We're debating whether to use fall colors, like seasonal ones or stick with the app's current color scheme.
Making pixels dance is easy. Making them sell a vision is the real work.
Most people think fish can’t walk and horses don’t run through fire. But when you marry unhinged AI imagination with precision motion design, rules stop existing.
Did the motion hit or was it too fast? Be honest in the comments.🐟
