The quote went out on Tuesday. On Thursday they asked for it 300mm wider.
Nobody did anything wrong. The customer changed their mind, which is what customers do. But the model was built as one thing, so widening the run moves the worktop, the splashback, the end panel and the appliance housing with it. The renders are stale. The drawing needs reissuing.
The change was small. The rebuild was not.
It is the same in every trade I have looked at. Move a side door one bay. Different balustrade on the same flight. Oak instead of walnut on three units out of eleven. The request is a sentence. The response is a day.
The reason is that the model has no idea which parts are which. It does not know the door fronts are door fronts, or that the ones nobody mentioned should come back untouched.
That is what I am building Refora for. Edit an existing model one named part at a time, see what the change will touch before it runs, and get everything else back exactly as it was.
If you make something bespoke, send me your product family and the change customers ask for most. I will run it and send the result back. https://refora.dawarmustaqeem.com/
