Inspired by Édouard Manet’s Young Lady in 1866, I reimagined the painting as a living cinematic world. The woman and her African grey parrot slowly awaken, cross beyond the boundaries of the canvas and enter a lush Victorian garden. The story returns to the museum with one small green leaf left outside the frame — a final clue that perhaps the journey was real. I wanted to explore what might exist beyond a painting when art is allowed to come alive.
