We're exploring two interaction patterns for a services section.
Option 1 - Direct Navigation. Users preview a service on hover and navigate directly on click.
Option 2 - Progressive Disclosure. Users expand the card first, explore additional details, and then decide whether to continue.
Both approaches aim to reduce uncertainty before navigation. The trade-off is simple: speed vs. exploration.
Which pattern would you choose, and in what situations would you use the other one?

Option 1 will be ideal for 90% of your users, but Option 2 is intuitive and innovative. It gives users the experience they will feel before taking an action.

Option 2 is not actually bad, but it may be difficult for users to navigate. From what I’m seeing, users would need to place their cursor over the section before they realize that a feature is hidden there.

Option 1 takes it

I voted Option 1: for a services section the job is usually to route people to the right service, and hover preview plus a direct click is the most predictable way to do that, especially since progressive disclosure leans on hover and quietly breaks on touch. I would reach for...

Option 2 has a lot of empty space, doesn't seem good

Would go for option 2 to give it some character and interaction.
