A custom web space for a Hollywood celebrity photographer.
Some projects light a fire under you.
I designed a portfolio site for Sasha Samsonova โ an incredibly talented Hollywood photographer based in LA who shoots top-tier celebrities (and fun fact: sheโs a fellow Ukrainian! ๐บ๐ฆ).
My main goal was to break away from generic, cookie-cutter templates. I wanted a space that feels like a natural extension of her iconic style, not something that fights for attention. Inspired by her work, I went with a raw, sleek palette of deep blacks and grays, paired with sharp, precise geometry.

The workflow was super fast and intense:

Honestly? The simplicity and clarity of the platform.
This was my very first time using Squarespace, and I had less than 24 hours to pull it off. It felt like a total wild-card challenge: Can I actually build a solid, functional site with a brand-new tool in just one day?
And guess what? I think I actually did it! ๐
Sure, thereโs still plenty to refine โ more pages to add, smooth animations, extra custom sections โ but Iโm genuinely proud of this first draft. Huge credit to Squarespace for being so surprisingly intuitive once you get into the flow.

Building under pressure means getting creative on the fly:
โญ๏ธ Aligning Uneven Text โ I needed to baseline-align words with totally different font heights. After testing a bunch of workarounds, I ended up solving it cleanly with custom CSS.
โญ๏ธ Thicker Custom Lines โ I needed an extra-bold divider line, so I turned a simple rectangle block into a divider and tweaked its scale. Worked like a charm! (Pro tip if you ever run into this!)

AETHER Studio is a concept creative agency built entirely with Squarespace to demonstrate how thoughtful design can transform a simple idea into a modern, immersive digital experience.
Rather than creating another information-heavy website, I focused on crafting an experience that feels intuitive, interactive, and effortless to explore. Inspired by editorial design, I used a minimalist layout, generous whitespace, and a muted sage color palette to create a calm, premium aesthetic that naturally guides visitors through the content without overwhelming them.
Using Squarespace Finish Layer, I implemented Block Animations, Block Transforms, and Stacks to create subtle motion, visual depth, and responsive layouts. Every animation, transition, and interaction was intentionally designed to enhance storytelling, strengthen visual hierarchy, and encourage users to continue exploring the website.
The entire project was designed manually using Squarespace's native editor and Finish Layer tools, without external AI website builders, third-party templates, or custom code. Every layout, spacing adjustment, animation, and visual decision was carefully crafted to showcase how Squarespace's built-in capabilities can create a polished, engaging, and professional web experience.
Ultimately, AETHER Studio demonstrates that memorable digital experiences aren't created through complexityโthey're created through thoughtful design, purposeful interactions, and a user-first approach.

We designed and built the site in Squarespace to deliver a premium, considered experience from the first scroll, matching the quality of the property itself.
We used the full Finish Layer suite to create a beautiful, smooth bespoke feel.
Block Animations - Cards slide into view as you enter the page, and reveal their copy on hover with a click-through link, creating an interactive, editorial feel.
Block Transforms - Used to build an overlapping card layout, giving the page depth and a dynamic, asymmetrical rhythm.
Stacks - Grouped and aligned blocks to control how the layouts hold together across screen sizes.
Font Uploads - A custom brand font uploaded to carry The Gate's personality throughout.
