Most fintech apps tell you what already happened to your money.
I wanted to design one that tells you what's about to.
This is the onboarding flow for Forecastr — a subscription risk app I've been designing for people with irregular income: freelancers, gig workers, and anyone tired of being caught off guard by a renewal charge on a low-balance day.
The challenge wasn't the screens. It was the trust problem. Asking someone to connect their bank account is a big ask — so the entire onboarding is built to earn that permission before it's requested, not after.
Every screen answers one of three silent questions users are asking: - What is this actually doing for me? - Is my money safe? - Why do you need access to my bank?
More screens dropping soon.
