Falconers don't clip a hawk's wings to keep it from leaving. They spend months training recall with a long cord, letting the bird fly further and further before calling it back, until eventually it comes back from open sky with no cord at all.
The whole method is built backwards from what you'd expect: more freedom, not less, is what makes the animal trustworthy.
That's roughly the arc of how I use Claude in my design process now. Early on I was editing every suggestion like it might fly off with something important. These days it drafts full Webflow site structures, color systems, first-pass copy, and I let it range a lot further before I step in. I still call it back before anything ships, same as a falconer still wants the bird on the glove before dark. But the leash got longer, not shorter, and the work got better for it.
How much rope do you give your AI tools before you check what they bring back?
