Title The Absent Center
Source details Meta accession 2007.280 (Proto-Elamite copper-alloy figure). Source material came from the Met open-access archive.
Project description From one Proto-Elamite figure in the Met archive, I explored pair-form repetition and absence as structure. Two near-identical horned figures are set in mirrored, frontal positions with a deliberate central void. The empty center becomes the subject: an unresolved gap where the original pair’s larger compositional context should be. Built entirely in FLORA through iterative generation and composition tests, with final control over material consistency, silhouette grammar, and museum-light framing.
Process summary (short) I began from source-derived renders, then tested repetition, tonal mass, and composition variants. The final image was chosen for stable identity across both figures, material coherence, and an unresolved but balanced central negative space. I intentionally avoided over-narrativizing the scene to preserve interpretive openness around what is missing.
