figma made a big chunk of our jobs free at config last week and honestly i think that's a good thing because once you get past the initial panic it's actually pretty clarifying. they shipped native motion, ai shaders you summon from a sentence, code layers, and plugins you build just by asking, so the slow specialized production work that used to be the hard part is mostly a prompt now, and if you sell design the smart move is to get past mourning the craft getting cheaper and start paying attention to where the value quietly moved instead.
when everyone's working off the same canvas with the same agent and the same defaults the work naturally starts to converge, and polish stops being the thing that sets any of us apart, so what's actually left to sell is the decision underneath it, the which-buyer and which-angle and whether-it-should-even-move part that the agent will happily dodge making for you, and that's the part clients still pay us for. i've never once been hired for the logo, and that just got a whole lot more true.
This is why I keep saying designers should become better product thinkers because when everyone has access to the same tools, judgment becomes the competitive advantage.
Hello, meet my Character name is [BOLI].
What started as a simple character sketch became an entire visual world.
For this challenge, I designed an original mascot with its own personality, custom wordmark, signature color palette, and a complete identity system that stays consistent across posters, stickers, packaging, and social media.
The goal wasn't just to create a cute character—it was to build a mascot that feels like it belongs to a real brand and can live across endless applications without losing its identity.
Created entirely in Recraft Studio using Exploration Mode, Vector, and reference workflows to keep every design on-model.

Meet Chip! My entry to the Recraft Challenge.
INVISIBLE TO MOST. ESSENTIAL TO ALL. While the whole world sleeps, Chip designs, builds and maintains the tiny infrastructure that keeps nature running smoothly.
From Acorn houses to snail highways, no detail is too small. Someone has to do the small work.
That Someone is CHIP.
The idea is to have a character that has its own universe. He's not a mascot for a brand, he is the brand.
It started from a single idea of having someone who takes care of the hidden world beneath us. Initially it was to have a beaver who builds things as a mascot for a real estate or a construction company, but It evolved into a whole universe.
I primarily used Recraft 4V.1 and V4.1 pro along with folkcraft style attached to it.
It was really fun to use the exploration mode and then stick to one character to build a whole whole around it that too with precision.
