My website needed a redesign so today I completely overalled it.
As I was working on it I realized that your website can really affect the view you have on your work.
When I was using the old one I didn't fee as confident sending it to potential leads or studios in my area. The new one feel more like a representation of myself and my skills.

Bike shop owner came to me needing a new website.
Logo + branding were already in place, but their website looked like it was hobbled together during the post-war era.
Removed the drabness and made sure the branding style was utilized better.
The initial page had too many CTA buttons. This was improved by reducing it to one (Book service).
Focused on bold italic type, as it made the site feel more fast-paced and fun (Bikes are fast and fun).
Made the product page more intuitive. Tested with real users and iterated accordingly.
End result: a site that makes it easier to book service appointments and highlights their products.

What actually makes a design feel “minimal”… and not just empty?🤔
When I was building my own-site I was conscious of balancing minimalism with being intentional.
Mentally I am always thinking:
What needs attention first?
How does the viewed get instant understanding?
What can I take away without losing the meaning?
I think minimal design works best when it’s doing something for the user, not just for aesthetics.
