PARADE 1555: The Immortal Harness

A 60-pound suit of hand-chiseled steel and 24K gold, built to make a king look like an invincible god. Four years later, a single wooden splinter pierced his visor slit and killed him.

The king was mortal. His empire collapsed. But his armor survived 470 years without a scratch.

The Reimagining: From Relic to Runway Parade armor was never built for the mud of battle. It was the 16th century's ultimate haute couture: wearable propaganda commissioned from Parisian goldsmiths to intimidate through pure luxury.

We took King Henry II's complete 1555 suit out of its glass museum case and placed it where it truly belongs: a subterranean brutalist runway in Paris. Walking through shallow black mirror water under a single architectural light blade, the ancient armor commands modern Paris Fashion Week.
