We rewrite short messages obsessively. "Thanks." or "Thanks!" or "Thank you so much!!" Too cold, too eager, too much. A tiny daily anxiety nobody designs for.
Every writing tool answers the wrong question. They tell you what tone you wrote: friendly, professional, concise. None tell you how the person reading it will actually receive it.
Noted is a little machine for exactly that. Type the message you're rehearsing, then turn a dial from too cold to too warm. Your message morphs live as you go, and underneath it you see the other side of the conversation: what the reader is probably thinking at each setting. Find the version that feels right, copy it, leave. Nothing gets sent. (There's a hidden eighth setting. Push past the last stop, three times.)
Write in another language and the whole dial answers back in it, rewritten, not translated. And it reads the room: the polite version for your boss, the loose one for your crush.
Built in Figma Make on a Gemini backend. Before the product itself, I built a tool to test the tool: a harness that ran my test messages through the generation prompt, so I could tune the comedy and lock the meaning before writing any product code. The product then runs everything in a single AI call. All eight versions and reactions generate at once, so scrubbing the dial is instant.
Try it on the message you've been staring at: noted.ktonofrei.com And here's is working project file: Figma Make Link
