Title: Turning a Common Sales Problem Into Specific Content
Project type: Speculative / Self-initiated project
Category/skills:
— Copywriting
— Content Writing
— Social Media Content
— Content Strategy
The brief Create a LinkedIn thought leadership post around a common problem experienced by coaches, consultants, and service based businesses: prospects showing interest, having an initial conversation, and then going silent.
The approach Instead of relying on broad sales advice, I focused on the specific moment where a promising conversation turns into silence.
The goal was to make the problem immediately recognisable to the target audience while offering a useful perspective they could apply to their own sales process.
The result A concise LinkedIn post that reframes “ghosting prospects” from simply being a follow up problem into a communication and clarity problem.
Project note This is a speculative practice project created to demonstrate my copywriting and content strategy approach. No client performance results are being claimed.
Reconstructed practice work :
Your prospect didn’t always “lose interest.”
Sometimes, the conversation simply wasn’t clear enough for them to take the next step.
They showed interest.
You had the call.
They said they needed your service.
Then…
Nothing.
No reply.
No “I’m no longer interested.”
Just silence.
And now you’re wondering:
Should I follow up again?
But before sending the third “just checking in” message, look at what happened before the silence.
Did they clearly understand:
— what problem you were solving?
— why your offer was right for them?
— what working with you would actually look like?
— what the next step was?
Because sometimes, a prospect doesn’t disappear because they don’t want the solution.
They disappear because the path to saying yes wasn’t clear enough.
The follow up matters. But so does everything that happens before it.
Note: This sample has been reconstructed from the original project concept because the original LinkedIn post is no longer accessible.
