A year ago, I thought working more hours automatically meant I was progressing.
There were days I was editing for 15–17 hours.
Low-paying projects.
Constant deadlines.
Very little control over what I worked on.
It taught me a lot technically.
But it also taught me something more important:
Being busy and building a career are two completely different things.
Now I care much more about:
→ Who I work with
→ What type of work I become known for
→ Whether the project actually improves my skills
→ Whether the relationship can grow long term
Still working hard.
Just much more selective about what I'm working hard on.

What if sharing your work was just part of making it?
I love the idea of building in public, but documenting the process can become a whole process of its own.
So I wanted to see if I could remove some of that friction by creating a work diary.
I’m experimenting with using AI to pull from the work I’m already doing and turn it into simple daily entries, so I can keep track of all the ideas, decisions, mistakes, and little discoveries that usually disappear once a project is done.
I just want to make the work I’m already doing easier to share.

Members from our studio re-imagined a video from ottilie into a short film teaser, we wanted it to convey the message of her video in a short but intriguing & impactful manner, we would like to hear your opinions and suggestion about what we can improve further.
I used to think being a good freelancer meant being available for everything.
More calls.
More projects.
More flexibility.
More “yes”.
Over time, I learned almost the opposite.
My best work happens when:
the scope is clear
communication is mostly async
there is trust instead of constant checking
I can stay with a product long enough to understand the business, not just the code
saying “no” to unnecessary complexity is allowed
Interestingly, the more boundaries I introduced, the better the work became.
Less context switching.
Better decisions.
Cleaner code.
More ownership.
I’m starting to think that professional growth as a freelancer is not only about becoming faster or learning more technologies.
Sometimes it’s about becoming much more selective about how you work.

Knowing when to say no is what makes you an expert. Clients don't just want a yes man they want a guide who stops projects from getting messy and late.
