RETURN TO THE WAVE
What if the boatmen survived Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa, only to discover they could never truly escape the image?
Return to the Wave imagines what might happen beyond Hokusai’s frozen moment. The boatmen survive the crash, wash ashore among the wreckage, rebuild their vessel and return to sea. For a brief moment, it seems they have escaped.
But as they continue their journey, the water begins to fall into a familiar rhythm. The sea rises, the claw-like foam returns and the iconic wave slowly forms around them once again.
I used FLORA throughout the process, starting with the original artwork and developing the idea through a six-frame storyboard. From there, I refined each key scene and animated the final sequence while keeping the visual language rooted in Hokusai’s ukiyo-e woodblock world.
The result is a loop about survival, repetition, and the tension between human persistence and something far larger and more permanent. The boatmen struggle, rebuild and keep moving. Mount Fuji remains still. The wave returns.

I liked this shield because of its beautiful pattern and shine. It has a detailed design with a human figure in the middle, made from woven cane and shiny shell pieces. It looked like something made to be seen, not just used.
What I made: I turned the shield into a surfboard, but kept its design exactly the same, same pattern, same shine, same figure. I only changed its shape into a board. I picked a surfboard because its long shape already matches the shield's shape, so it felt like a natural change.
How I made it: I downloaded the Sheild image from Met's open archive, then imported the sheild picture in flora , connected picture with text prompt node, then I connected both picture and text prompt node to the video node and I selected the seedance 2.5 model with 30sec clip, I kept the work flow simple because I am new to flora and I was afraid maybe I may use all the credits before even creating good video, add this in how I made it
Why I made this: I wanted to take this design out of the museum and give it a new life in something people can use and see in motion. I think the shield's pattern is still beautiful enough to belong in The Met today, just now on a different object.

“A Knight’s Story”
This creation was inspired by a fictional interpretation of the Nuremberg Armor from The Met’s public archive.
The original piece is a German suit of armor made in Nuremberg around 1520, constructed from steel and leather. Its distinctive fluted surfaces reflect the transition from late Gothic armor toward the fuller forms associated with the Maximilian style.
For this project, I wanted to explore the different stages of the armor’s imagined life — not simply as an object, but as something that existed within an environment, was worn, carried, marked by events, and eventually left behind as a trace of history.
The challenge was to communicate a specific feeling without explaining everything, leaving enough space for the viewer to complete the story themselves.
Really happy to take part in the Challenge using FLORA. Exploring The Met’s archive was already inspiring, but digging deeper into the histories and possible narratives surrounding individual objects made the process even more interesting.

Great story line
The Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel is named after a real French palace. Here's why.
In the 1950s, the man who built the hotel visited that palace in France and loved it so much, he named his new Miami Beach hotel after it.
That palace is where French kings once lived, and where they employed an artist named Léonard Limosin as their court painter. This 1556 portrait, one of his works, shows Henri d'Albret, King of Navarre.
The hotel's name and this portrait trace back to the exact same place: the Château de Fontainebleau.
As a tribute to Limosin, I used his portrait of the king as inspiration to redesign the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel pool floor, using AI.
