When I first joined Contra, I had no idea it would become one of my main spaces to find clients and meaningful work.
I remember seeing the portfolios of people I admired and wondering how on earth I could make mine that good. Every time a new job offer appeared on my dashboard, impostor syndrome kicked in. I didn’t know how to pitch, how to stand out, or how to make the platform work for me, especially after trying on other platforms with zero results.
But everything changed with that first client. That first person who said “yes.” That moment showed me that persistence pays off.
So here’s what I want to share with you today:
Keep going. Be consistent. Apply even when you feel unsure. Improve a little every time.
The right client might be closer than you think. Your “yes” could land in your inbox any day.

As someone who is new to the platform, and is working on building her portfolio, this means a lot! I'm hoping I can find my first client soon! Lots of experience, just privately, so not a lot to show on my portfolio yet.
You need to put it on your portfolio! This is key, if you have the experience, show it!
