I wanted to be inside the picture
I went to art school as a kid, and I spent a lot of it staring at paintings and imagining myself inside them.
So for this challenge I picked a painting of Klimt's portrait of Mäda Primavesi, 1912 to 1913, at the Met. She was about eight. One arm on her hip, not smiling.
What I really wanted was the story behind it, and behind the dress she is wearing.
I started with the designer. The Met's curator says the dress was made by Emilie Flöge, at Klimt's suggestion. The audio guide calls her "his companion, the designer Emilie Flöge". Her own collection burned in 1945 and almost no finished clothes survive, so this painted dress is one of the few places her work can still be seen.
Then I researched what a Viennese workroom actually had in 1912. Batiste and organdi. Ribbon roses of the Wiener Werkstätte. Only after that did I start generating, and every prompt used those words instead of "vintage white dress".
Then the part I wanted since I was a kid: getting in. The camera pulls back out of the picture, onto a museum wall, and a grown woman is standing in front of it, looking.
Fun fact from the process: a canvas behaves like a design system. Leave one thing unlocked and everything downstream drifts, same failure as an unlinked token.
Also my first time working in a node system, and I had wanted to try one for a long time.

Small mix-up on my side, the video I posted has the scenes in the wrong order 🥲 Is it possible to reupload it on the submission, or should I leave it here in the comments?
