Okay but why did nobody tell me designing for the iPhone Duo would be this fun? 👀
Been deep in a lil experiment testing landscape/fold view on the iPhone Duo to see how two screens can work together instead of one flow doing all the heavy lifting. Used a pet care app concept for it.
The verdict? Side-by-side layouts hit different when you get the balance right. More breathing room, more context, less "wait where did that go."
Still exploring, still tweaking but this might be my new favorite way to design.

Landscape is more good
Landscape just gives you so much more room to breathe. Makes the whole layout feel way more intentional instead of cramming everything into one narrow flow.
The pet profile plus conversation works really well here. I would just be careful not to make both screens compete for attention. One should lead, the other should support.
Good call profile leading, conversation supporting feels right. Appreciate the perspective!

Great perspective
Love how much breathing room the split view gives. How do you handle the software keyboard when the user taps into that chat input does it take over the entire right panel or shift into a thumb split layout?
Right now leaning toward it shifting into a thumb-split layout keeps the chat panel usable without fully swallowing the screen, and the profile side stays partially visible for context.

The blue footer feels more confident for a B2B sales product—the contrast gives the navigation and CTA a clearer presence. I’d pick Blue Footer.
