Shopify Store SEO Fix - 114 Products Optimized from 48% to 100%
This was a complete SEO cleanup for a Shopify beauty & electronics store with 114 products.
THE PROBLEM (Before): The store had serious SEO issues. All 114 products were showing "Need Improvement" - 5 to 8 issues per product, average score was 48% to 60%. Products were not optimized, leading to poor Google visibility.
WHAT I DID:
Audited all 114 products with StoreSEO Fixed product titles and meta titles
Rewrote meta descriptions with keywords
Added image ALT texts
Fixed product handling and structure
Submitted URLs for Google indexing
THE RESULT (After): ✅ 114 / 114 products optimized (100%) ✅ 0 SEO issues left ✅ 96% Overall Store Score ✅ 100% Already Optimized ✅ All product URLs now showing "URL is on Google"
The store went from an average 48% score with multiple issues to 100% optimized and fully indexed on Google Search.
Tools used: Shopify, StoreSEO, Google Search Console

A beautiful Shopify store can still be frustrating to use if the navigation isn't clear.
Here are 5 common mistakes I look out for:
1. Too many menu items
More options don't always make browsing easier.
2. Unclear categories
Customers shouldn't have to guess where a product belongs.
3. Hiding important pages
Key collections and shopping paths should be easy to discover.
4. Ignoring mobile navigation
A menu that works on desktop may not work well on a small screen.
5. No clear product path
Customers should be able to move naturally from browsing → finding a product → shopping.
Good navigation isn't about adding more links.
It's about making the right things easier to find.
What would you check first when reviewing a Shopify store's navigation?
Clear navigation makes the shopping journey much easier.
A redesigned website can look right while pagination, canonicals or indexing rules have changed underneath. Those details need acceptance tests before launch.
For each page type, define:
What crawlers should be able to reach.
Which URLs should be eligible for indexing.
What links, content and metadata the page should return.
Who checks the implementation and what counts as a pass.
One example: if you rely on a page’s noindex directive, blocking that page in robots.txt prevents Google from reading it.
I put together a practical guide to turning technical SEO requirements into a specification developers and QA can actually use.

A Shopify homepage isn't just about making the store look good.
The structure matters.
When I approach a homepage, I think about what a visitor needs to see and understand as they move through the store.
A simple structure could be:
→ Strong first impression
→ Clear product categories
→ Featured or best-selling products
→ Reasons to trust the brand
→ More products to explore
→ A clear next step
The goal is to make the journey feel natural instead of throwing everything onto one page.
Good design isn't only about what looks nice.
It's also about what the customer sees, when they see it, and where it takes them next.
What section do you think is most important on a Shopify homepage?
Good structure. The one we see skipped most on this exact layout: the featured-products rail right after the hero still needs enough items per row to feel curated, not half-empty, once it collapses to mobile. A 4-up desktop grid often becomes 2 cramped tiles on a phone with...
