Vazi (ვაზი, "vine" in Georgian) starts with that story. On a slope in Kakheti, above the Alazani valley, 480 vines grow in 12 rows of 40. Each one has a number: 07-23 is row 7, place 23. You choose a vine and own it for the 2027 season. From April to September you get a photo from your row every week. In September the grapes are picked by hand at rtveli, trodden by foot in a press carved from one tree trunk, and left for six months in a qvevri, a clay jar buried in the ground. In April 2028 you get two bottles with your vine's number on the label.
