What if the end of a legend felt less like defeat than a return home?
Mourning Glory began as a 2012 line drawing of Arthur resting against the stone Lady of the Lake. In 2015, I rebuilt it into a complete exhibition piece—developing the cemetery setting, reducing several sword motifs to one narrative anchor, and balancing a gold-and-crimson sunset with cooler violet and blue notes.
This case study follows that change from early line work to atmosphere-led storytelling.
